THE UNIVERSITY OF
TEXAS AT AUSTIN
2012 - 2016
At 14 in my high school yearbook class, I discovered my love for graphic design!
I quickly picked up the Creative Cloud basics - InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop - continuing to teach myself the programs with every new project. I would keep busy by designing Christmas cards, graduation announcements, and yearbook senior ads.
2016 - 2020
While in college, I studied Advertising where I was exposed to the effect that graphic design has on consumers. It was fascinating! I supplemented my advertising courses with a minor in Business that allowed me to learn the fundamentals of how companies run, operate, and ultimately begin to advertise.
When I wasn't studying, I served as the Director of Public Relations for my sorority. This position let me have so much range in my design and was an awesome creative outlet. The year after that, I became the President, which was more of a managerial role. It taught me extensive leadership and often felt like a was running a business at times- but my creativity was lacking.
In the Fall of my senior year, I began turning my random iPad doodles into actual products, thus the creation of Olivia Brady Art! I would sell my stickers and cups to friends and sorority sisters, growing my knowledge of eCommerce and continuing to learn.
2020 - Now
The pandemic hit just a few months before I was supposed to graduate. Like many of my fellow 2020 grads, my job hunt was halted. I returned to the boutique I had worked at the summer before and became a part-time Sales associate, sprinkling a bit of my graphic design experience in projects here and there.
The year continued on and outside projects kept flowing in from family friends and friends of friends. My little freelance design business allowed for me to experiment in logo design/branding and broaden my skill sets to anything I set my mind to. I have loved working with passionate entrepreneurs and look forward to the more opportunities that may come!
